Hello Val,
Geography is a broad science. Offering your students a geographic lens to explore current Canadian issues provides them with a place-based investment and a richer understanding. With that in mind, consider this statement by the 2015 Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) Camsell Medal Winner, Bruce Amos:
“There are two fundamental issues that Canadians have to come to grips with. Climate change and the recommendations that came out of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.”
Sincerely, Connie Wyatt Anderson Chair, Canadian Geographic Education |

Talk energy week
Talk energy Week 2016 plans are in full swing. The focus for the week is energy use in heating and cooling buildings. In order to demonstrate the huge savings people can make in their own houses, the Let’s Talk Energy team is sending thermal cameras into its partner museums and science centres. Let’s Talk Energy has also organized an energy themed speaker series that will be visiting in schools in almost every Canadian province and territory. Don’t worry if you can’t make it, there will also be webinars for schools that are not able to host a presentation. To see which schools and science centers are hosting Talk Energy Week programming, visit the Let’s Talk Energy interactive map.
