Another interesting opportunity for gifted students next fall!

Math Connections in Finance and Science

This new offering has grown out of an awareness that very few of the brighter students, in grades 8 to 10, get exposed to Finance in the Secondary Math Programs, and their awareness of the financial scene is often very limited.

As you will see from the topics in the course summary, it extends into some interesting areas, and will include case studies I have acquired over the years, to give the students a true sense of applications of finance.

The course will be split between finance and science, so there will be plenty of material to stimulate the enthusiastic student.

Please see Ms. Byrne for details. I will post more info as it comes in!

Friday 29 March 2019

Good Afternoon!

Here is an interesting opportunity!

We highly encourage you to apply to The Knowledge Society's (TKS) 2019-2020 innovation program. TKS is selecting highly ambitious students ages 13-17 year old to expose them to cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Genomics, Quantum Computing, so that they can solve some of the world’s hardest problems.

The program is led by successful entrepreneurs, who have built and sold companies, and have advised CEOs from the world's top 500 companies. The program is modelled after curriculums from Stanford, Harvard, and MIT, and designed to replicate learning environments of companies like Google and Facebook. By the end of the program, they will help you become olympic-level CEOs, innovators, thought leaders, and researchers.

Check out their 2018 recap video to get a high-level understanding of what they do at TKS.

Throughout the program, you will have the opportunity to earn:
  • Summer internships (check out what Microsoft and CIBC are saying about their student interns!)
  • Attending world-class conferences e.g. Web Summit ($20k value).
  • Visiting innovative companies e.g. Google, Microsoft, Apple and more
  • Speaking at events e.g. - 14 y/o Zaynah @ C2 (in front of 3,000 people)
  • Being featured in media e.g. Shalev on Discovery Channel
  • Consulting for real-world companies like Airbnb, TD, Microsoft etc... on their top business priorities
  • Building your network of executives and intellectually like-minded people
